A Fort Worth B4C in full trim. Our 96 looked similiar even though these are the LS1 later models.

A group of 96 B4C's. Our car was unit 23 and it may very well be one of the cars in this pic.

Car purchased at auction from the City of Fort Worth with 128k miles on 3/05.

Original intent was to retail this car as I do with most of my purchases. The unique potential of this unit along with the desire of my 18 yo daughter and 25 yo son to refurbish it has resulted in a change of plans.

First step was to inspect the car to see what maintenance needed to be performed.

So many people buy one of these used police interceptors and immediately start doing the "go fast" and bling bling" mods.

Bringing the car up to mechanical standards is the first step.

Fort Worth butchers a car on decommision. I lost count of the wires that were just cut and left hanging.

As the car was equipped. Single seat with a carpeted shelf in place of the passenger seat and rear seats.

The car also has a 6 point roll bar installed.

Intial Maintenance Items

PCM - car was listed at auction as having a bad tranny. Tranny is fine, the PCM was bad.

The interior of this car was well worn. Beat to crap actually.

One of the pleasant surprises after we got the car home was the discovery of a sticker on the firewall that had A Jasper Engine serial number on it.

We decided to take advantage of the Texas Open Records act and requested full service and maintenance records on this car. The people at the City of Ft. Worth were very helpful.

For a fee of $133 we received over 200 pages of records - right down to every oil change and tire replacement.

We discovered the car was taken out of service 10/04 and sold at auction 3/05. The engine was REPLACED 2/02 at 103k miles.

It was well worth the fee to find out this engine has less than 30k miles on it.
